Five stars on Google and Facebook. Licensed and insured. Owner-run out of Zwingle, Iowa, on a build radius that reaches every kitchen table within eighty miles.
Six services. One standard. Every build run by the owner.
From a 60×80 pole barn in Cascade to a custom home in Zwingle, every NXT Build project is scheduled by Collin, run by Collin’s crew, and walked through by Collin at the end. Pick the service that fits your land and your timeline.
Custom Home Building.
Tailored to your land. Built for how you actually live.
Every NXT Build custom home starts with a walk-through of how your family uses each room, where the light falls, and what your land already does well. From foundation pour to final walk-through, Collin runs the schedule, runs the budget, and runs the build himself.

Commercial Construction.
Workshops, ag buildings, light commercial. Built on schedule.

Home Additions.
More space, designed to look like it was always there.
Master suites, second-story additions, sunrooms, attached garages, in-law suites. The trickiest part of an addition is the seam where new meets old. We match the roof line, the siding course, the window pattern, and the foundation grade so it reads as one home.

Post-Frame Construction.
Eleven years specializing in pole barns built right.
Post-frame is what Collin learned before he started NXT Build. 30×40 garages, 40×60 shops, 60×80 ag buildings, 80×120 indoor riding arenas. Pressure-treated columns set into concrete, engineered trusses, steel sheathing, and the kind of bracing that holds for decades of Iowa wind.

Barndominium Builds.
Post-frame shell. Custom-home interior. One contractor.
Barndominiums combine the cost efficiency of a post-frame shell with the finish and feel of a custom home. We design the floor plan around how you’ll live in it: open-span living, vaulted ceilings, attached shop space, large sliders to the back forty. One crew, one schedule, one final walk-through.

Roofing.
Standing seam, asphalt, replacements, repairs.
Iowa weather destroys cheap roofs. We install standing seam steel on barndominiums and ag buildings, architectural shingles on homes, and full tear-offs after wind or hail damage. Every job includes proper underlayment, ice and water shield at the eaves, and ventilation that keeps the deck dry.

How a build runs at NXT Build.
Five stages, every project, from your first phone call to the final walk-through. No subcontracted sales team, no handoffs, no surprises in the middle.
Walk the land. Talk through the build.
We meet at your kitchen table or out on the site and figure out what you are building, what it needs to do, and what your timeline looks like. We listen first.
Design and free quote.
We draw the floor plan, price out the materials, and give you a fixed quote so there are no surprises mid-build. You see the math.
Permits, site prep, and foundation.
We pull the permits, dig the foundation, set the footings, and pour the concrete. You do not deal with the county.
Build.
Framing, sheathing, roofing, siding, mechanical, finish. Same crew, same site, every day. You get a weekly update from Collin.
Final walk-through and handoff.
Collin walks the build with you, fixes any punch-list items, and hands you the keys. The warranty starts the day you move in.
The owner’s promise.
Three things Collin guarantees on every build, in writing, before the first board is cut.
Owner-led.
Collin runs every project from kitchen-table quote to final walk-through. No sales team between you and the build.
Same crew.
Same four to six hands on day one and day two hundred. No subs, no rotation, no handoffs.
Fixed price.
Quote locked before we break ground. Material runs and weather are on us, not on you.
Seven verified reviews. Every one of them five stars.
They bring ALL their tools, clean up the work area, and they work without breaks, excuses, or complaining. Tornado damage, wind damage throughout our Ranch had put me incapable of catching up, until now. Our Ranch is back to normal and the animals are all protected.
“Made the building process stress-free. Craftsmanship and attention to detail are outstanding.”
“Easy to work with. Great ethic, trustworthy, fair price. Hire with absolute confidence.”
“Even with unpredictable weather, they cared about getting our house done. HIGHLY recommend is an understatement.”

How long does a custom home or barndominium build take from start to finish?
For a custom home or barndominium, plan on roughly 6 to 9 months from groundbreaking to keys-in-hand. That covers permits and site prep (4-8 weeks), foundation work, framing, mechanical, and finish.
Post-frame buildings under 4,000 square feet typically run 8 to 14 weeks once we are on site. Weather and material lead times are the two variables that move the most.
Do you handle the permits and the county paperwork?
Yes. We pull the permits, file the setback variances if needed, schedule inspections, and handle the back-and-forth with whichever county we are building in. You sign off on plans once. We handle the rest.
What is the difference between a post-frame barndominium and a stick-frame custom home?
A post-frame barndominium uses pressure-treated columns set into concrete piers, engineered trusses spanning the roof, and steel sheathing on the exterior. Faster to put up, cost-efficient, and ideal when you want open-span living spaces or an attached shop.
A stick-frame custom home uses a continuous foundation and conventional 2×6 framing. More flexibility for multi-story builds and traditional finishes. We do both. The right choice depends on your land, your budget, and what you want the building to do.
Do you provide free quotes?
Yes. Every project gets a no-cost site walk-through and a fixed-price quote before any contract is signed. We do not charge for the meeting, the drive out, or the bid.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. NXT Build LLC is a licensed contractor in Iowa and fully insured. We can provide a current certificate of insurance and license number on request before a project starts.
How far will you travel for a build?
Standard service area is an 80-mile radius from Zwingle, IA, which covers most of eastern Iowa from Manchester down to Camanche and Cedar Rapids to the west. Projects outside that radius are case-by-case. Call and ask.
